Maximizing the Growth Cycle of our Hair

Filed under: Products — Tags: growth cycle, hair growth, hair vitamins — admin @ 5:47 pm on Sunday, December 21, 2008

Usually a sufferer of slow hair growth, I thought i would look into why it is that my hair seemed to slow down its growth phase after my daughter was born. Before I got pregnant and when I was pregnant my hair grew very fast. But now, it seems I can go about 6 months before needing a trim. I wondered why? I take my vitamins everyday, I don’t eat poorly and I get enough sleep, just like all the professionals suggest.

It isn’t just the usual concoction of daily multi vitamins that help with hair growth. Folic Acid is essential in hair growth which would explain why myself and a majority of pregnant women end up with a lot more hair during pregnancy, the amount of Folic Acid we take is dramatically increased in prenatal vitamins, thus giving us gorgeous hair.

Increasing your intake of Vitamin A  will help to produce healthy sebum in the scalp. But be sure not to exceed 25,000 IU a day as it is toxic and can cause other serious health problems and also assist in hair loss rather than hair growth.

Vitamin C is a great antioxidant that not only helps to keep you from getting colds but also aids in skin & hair health.

As well as Vitamin A & C, Vitamin E and Niacin will help with scalp circulation, which in turn helps nourish the hair root and follicle. Adding Vitamin B6 to your daily diet will help to prevents hair loss, an aid in the creation of melanin, which is what gives your hair its color.Vitamin B12 is also another good vitamin that prevents hair loss.

As well as a regiment of multi-vitamins there are several minerals that have proven to be helpful in the quest for fast growing beautiful hair. Most can be found in any hair vitamin product that you may be looking to purchase. Most of the time if you are eating the proper foods, you will get all the vitamins and minerals your hair needs to grow and be healthy. If not, purchasing a suppliment may be a good idea, I think I will have to be doing that, as I am clearly not getting enough in my daily diet.
