Biotin and Vitamins for Hair

Filed under: Musings — admin @ 4:34 pm on Monday, July 13, 2009

Whenever you hear about biotin, you may not know what it is. Well biotin is actually a member of the B complex vitamin family. Pretty much, it is essential for energy products, as well as the metabolism of fat and protein. There are a number of ways that you can get biotin from your normal everyday meals. For example, you can get it in things like salmon, peas, seeds, carrots, eggs, mushrooms and things like that. Despite all the ways that you can get biotin into your body, people can become deficient in their biotin levels. This is not a good thing. When you are lacking in biotin, you can have high cholesterol, heart problems and, the thing that we will talk about today, hair loss!

Biotin and hair loss, of course, go hand-in-hand. This is because biotin affects the level of your hair loss. So that would bring up the question, how do you know if you have low levels of biotin? Well, there are a few things that can happen. First and foremost, you are going to notice hair loss. Now this is something that can be caused by a lot of things, so the hair loss alone may not be enough to tip you off. However, with your hair loss you will also have weakness and frailness. People who have low levels of biotin will have weak hair. They will have lots of breakage and, of course, poor shine to their hair as well.

Hair loss from biotin is not something that you have to live with. All you need to do is start changing up your daily diet to get more biotin into your eating habits. This can be done by just consuming some food throughout the day that you normally would not. Biotin and hair loss do go hand-in-hand and it’s pretty easy to see that.

Now, to get a full list of foods that have biotin in them, you need to go online and start looking around. You will come across tons of different lists that will lead you in the right direction on what you should eat and what you should not eat. Do keep in mind that sometimes biotin and hair loss are things that you can not control. Sometimes peoples’ bodies do not absorb B vitamins right. This is something that is seen in a lot of people that have A blood types. Thus, if that is your case, you will need to talk to your doctor, and he will be able to let you know of different ways that you can go about getting the biotin to your body by other ways than eating food.

Some people are forced to take some biotin vitamins everyday to get the biotin that they need. However, this is worth it, because they will not have hair loss from biotin. Talk to your doctor today to see if hair loss from biotin is affecting you. If it is, then you and your doctor can work together to find out different ways to make sure that you do get the biotin that you need.
