One of the main things we women treasure is our hair. No need to deny it, we love our hair. Imagine having it fall out? Female hair loss and thinning is a common thing that many more woman deal with that you know. Why? Because we hide it so well. Losing our hair is not something that we run around the neighborhood announcing to all the people that live on your street. I often think that it is way more devastating to women than it is to men, but is not talked about as much.
We take so much pride in how our hair looks and feels that we panic when we see more than the normal amount fall out in the shower. It is normal apparently to lose 50-100 hairs a day, and the different stages of hair growth makes up for the daily losses, but after spending so much money on shampoo, conditioner and all the other products that make our hair as gorgeous as it is, having it fall out or thin is not an option.
Fortunately there are many differnt options for us. Once we have been to the doctor and determined what it is that is causing the hair to fall out we look into the different treatments. We can go out and buy different kinds of treatments that we rub on our heads, snake oil as my father in law likes to call it. There are pills we can take, serums we can drip on our heads and wigs that we can go out and buy. Sure the wigs that are out there now a days often look nicer than your own hair and are so natural looking you can fool anyone. But not yourself.
Society says that we have to be beautiful, thin, with a size 2 body and perfect hair. But when your hair starts to fall out, the emotional turmoil is often too much to be easily dealt with. Our sexual appeal and self worth goes down making us feel even more self consious and not so beautiful anymore. Fortunately there is help beyond the distress in many forms.
Your doctor should be able to provide you with a list of support groups and different resources for you to look into. If a support group is not what you are interested in, private therapy could be an option so you can talk to someone about your hair loss.
There are many different helpful treatments out there, Provillus, Procerin, Rogaine for Women and other products that are helpful in combating hair loss. If you are more interested in natural ways to regrow your hair there are many herbs that promote hair growth and can be quite helpful.
