Feline Hair Loss - Is It Possible?

If you have a little cat for a pet then you know that cat hair loss can be a scary thing. Even if it has not happened to you, thinking of your cat losing it’s hair can be scary. Today we are going to talk about feline hair loss and the different things that can cause it. By the end you may be able to pinpoint what is causing hair loss in your cat. The sooner you can find out what is causing the cat hair loss, the quicker that you can go about fixing the problem for good.

There are many things that cause hair loss in cats.  One of the first things that you should look for is the diet. Sometimes you need to make sure that you are giving your cat the right food. For example, foods that are high in protein that come from salmon or turkey are the best for your cat. Protein that comes from things like chicken or even beef may not give your cat the nutrients that it needs. When your cat does not get all the nutrients it needs, you could be left with a cat that is losing its hair. In some causes, people say that fish can cause problems in cats. However, this is normally only the case with low grade fish, so you should have nothing to worry about if you get the high end stuff.

Now, some cats do not like to be outside, but others do. If your cat likes to go outside, be sure that it is up-to-date with all of its vaccinations. This will keep it from getting a disease outside that is going to cause hair loss. Not only that, but it could keep your cat from getting a fatal disease. For indoor cats, be sure that the cat is not stresses out. Just like in humans, stress can cause cats to lose their hair. However, since we can not talk to cats to find out what is bothering them, you have to just use your wits and try to figure it out  yourself.

Do keep in mind that there are a few diseases out their that can cause cats to lose their hair. Normally you can prevent these disease by getting your cats vaccines. Some of the diseases that you need to watch out for would be things like Cushing disease, Addison disease, hyperthyroidism disease and hypothyroidism disease. All of these diseases can affect your cat in different ways. Either way, there is one thing that remains true. Your cat needs to beat these diseases or it stands a chance of hair loss.

Overall, you can take care of your cat by having it eat right and keeping it up-to-date with its shots. If you can do this, then feline hair loss can be prevent. Cat hair loss is not one of the most common things in the world, but it does happen. This is something that a lot of people do not think about until it has already started. Thus, take steps now to prevent this later.
